Hi! We’re Ben and Michelle Lioe, founders of Purrs in Paradise.

Our journey began in 2020 when we rescued two tiny feral kittens, Dozy and Leia. Giving them a safe, loving home completely changed our lives and opened our eyes to just how many incredible cats are still waiting for families of their own.

In 2023, we began dreaming about a different kind of cat lounge. We envisioned a beautiful tropical-inspired space where guests could slow down, unwind, and connect with adoptable cats in a calm, thoughtfully designed environment. More than anything, we wanted to create a place that helps more cats find loving forever homes while giving visitors an experience that leaves them feeling happier than when they arrived.

After years of planning, designing, and bringing that vision to life, we’re thrilled to open Purrs in Paradise at The CAMP in Costa Mesa, one of our favorite places in Orange County. Inspired by cat lounges we’ve visited around the world, we’ve combined our love of thoughtful design, hospitality, and animal welfare to create an experience that feels welcoming, memorable, and uniquely Southern California.

Ben is an Orange County native and Michelle is originally from Kansas City. Together, we share a love of travel, adventure, and, of course, cats. No matter where we go, you’ll often find us carrying Churu treats in case we meet a hungry stray along the way.
